City Golf Tour is a newly started Swedish professional minigolf tour (open for contestants from the entire world), played on Minigolf Open Standard style, or MOS, courses. In other words, Adventure Golf. The name comes from the tour's partner and main sponsor City Golf Europe, the company which has built most Swedish competition courses of the adventure style. Behind the tour is the Swedish MOS Alliance, a cooperation of seven Swedish minigolf clubs.
Structure of qualification competitions
Six qualification competitions are planned for the year:
1. Askim, April 18 2021 (cancelled due to pandemic restrictions)
Should have been played in Slottsskogen with minigolf balls. We're unfortunately not able to go through with this competition due to Corona restrictions.
2. Sundsvall, May 15-16 2021 (inställd pga pandemirestriktioner)
Tourens andra deltävling skulle ha spelas i Sundsvall under Kristi Himmelfärdshelgen. Tyvärr har vi inte möjlighet att genomföra tävlingen pga Coronarestriktioner.
3. Gullbergsbro, May 23 2021 (inställd pga pandemirestriktioner)
Tourens tredje deltävling skulle spelas på Gullbergsbros banor i Kärralund, östra Göteborg. Tyvärr har vi inte möjlighet att genomföra tävlingen pga Coronarestriktioner.
4. Örnsköldsvik, August 21-22 2021
Fourth qualification event is played over two days, like the second event. Once again you need to partake in both days if you want to qualify for the Tour Final. Played with a golf ball only.
5. Sundbyberg, August 28-29 2021
A two day event at the Golf Meadows in Sundbyberg, Stockholm, makes up the fifth qualification tournament of the City Golf Tour 2021. It's played with a golf ball only.
6. Sundsvall, SAGM September 3-4 2021
The Swedish Adventure Golf Masters aren't just the National Championships in adventur golf - it's also your last chance to qualify for the Tour Final. Played over Friday and Saturday in Sundsvall, with a golf ball only.
The arranging club can use whichever participation categories they want for their tournament, but qualification for the Tour Final will be according to points awarded for placement in the general category.
Placing 1-5 in a qualification competition will lead to direct qualification to the final (as long as you have finished in at least two qualification competitions).
Placing number 6 in a qualification competition will yield 35 points, down to 1 point for player number 40.
Starting fees in qualification competetions are set to a minimum of 400 SEK, or 40 EUR (players from clubs in the MOS Alliance) and 600 SEK, or 60 EUR (players from clubs outside the MOS Alliance).
From the starting fees in qualification competetions 100 SEK, or 10 EUR (players from clubs in the MOS Alliance) and 300 SEK, or 30 EUR (players from clubs outside the MOS Alliance) go towards the prize pot of the Tour Final.
There is no starting fee for the Tour Final.
The Tour General gets assigned the task to ensure that all qualified players sign up in time for the Tour Final. One easy way to make sure this is done is to ask all SAGM participants to let the Tour General know in advance if they play to participate in the Tour Final, should they qualify.
All individual class winners in SAGM, played September 3-4 2021, are qualified for the Tour Final given that they fulfil the criteria for playing (aged at least 15, finished at least two qualifying competitions). This guarantees female participation in the Tour Final.
The 50 players that accrue the most points in the qualifiers move on to the Tour Final. The MOS Alliance reserves the right to give out four wild cards to players that are deemed worthy of participation in the Tour Final, but may not formally have qualified.
